LUCK OF THE IRISH - Travel Blog #5

Hey gang!

Long time no blog LOL!!! It's been a crazy week of travelling, boy the stories I could tell you!! If only my parents weren't reading this! ;)
(Mom and Dad: JUST KIDDING!)

So I've arrived in Dublin, Ireland and let me tell you I've been feeling REAL lucky since I got here! For one, I met some great people on my way over here and we've decided to be travel buddies! Rad! Their names are Christof, Sven and Ivana! Strangely enough we found out on our way to Dublin that we'd be staying in the same hostel, crazy eh? It really is a small world!

Since we've been here we've just been enjoying the sites and sounds that the great Irish people have to offer. Oh and let me assure you, the only beer I've been drinking since I got here is GUINNESS! I mean, it's the Irish beer in Canada right? So I figure they love it here!

Speaking of Guinness, we went on a tour of the brewery here in Dublin, and here's a pic of us outside:

That's Christof and Sven to the left and Ivana on the right! Cool group!

I've also met some great people at the hostel, we do a lot of socializing in the common room. We've been playing cards and board games, it's great!!! I'm having the time of my life on this trip!

I should also, I don't know if "warn" is the proper word, but tell you that I've really changed as a person on this great journey, and I fully intend to follow my new life philosophies when I return. Don't worry gang, nothing TOO drastic! But I just wanted you to know that travelling has really opened my eyes to how diverse this world is, and basically, we only live once! Gotta live life while you can!!! It's going to be a whole new me when I get back!

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! - Travel Blog #4

Hey y'all,

well it's been a crazy couple of days but I've finally made my way into Italy!!! I met some real great people on the train, we talked almost the whole trip about North America and where I'm from, we even had a good discussion about American politics! I must say, I'm really glad that I sewed on a Canadian flag patch onto my backpack!

I don't have too much time to talk to you guys since I'm in an internet cafe, and it costs $3 for 10 minutes!! :(

Anyhoo, I did manage to upload a photo of my day trip to the leaning tower of Pisa! It was a really fun trip, I went on a bus full of other people from the hostel. The tour guide was SOO FUNNY!! And as for the tower OMG it is so beautiful! Here's a pic:

LOL it looks like I'm holding it up!!! After seeing it, I'll tell you it really feels like they're should be some supports for it, unnerving! Good thing I'm so buff!!! ;)
But really, you just HAVE to come see the tower, it's like you've never seen a tower before! Amazing!

Oh by the way the kid with me is Mac, he was on the same tour with his parents. They were so awesome, I went around the tower with them all day! And Mac, well he's a cool lil' dude!

I think that is about all I have time for right now though guys, I need to get going because I think the hostel has organized a pub crawl for some of the younger people, should be GREAT!!!

Make a Little Noise

I've left my house 3 or 4 times in the past 11 days. I have written essays and studied. But the majority of my time has been spent playing solitaire and looking for stuff to watch on youtube.

My back hurts from the patio chair that substitutes as my desk chair. My back hurts from the air mattress that substitutes as my bed.

Thankfully I've been listening to The Joel Plaskett Emergency's new 3-song EP Make a Little Noise. And it is quite good.

I like how youtube allows me to post without posting. I have work to do.
You are only allowed to imagine my motivation behind putting this up.

Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet

I found this photo on my computer. I took it when I lived in residence last year while I was walking with Alex Taylor through the res parking lot. I used the peak's old shitty digital camera.

I bet you didn't know this is what I had spent 80% of my time on in Vancouver up until this winter, and was initially my main reason for moving out here.
A fair bit has changed.

I met Chester Cheetah on top of a Mountain. He was on an extreme hiking adventure. He advised me on how to make me have a totally rad pad, even though I preferred the term cool looking apartment.

But he wouldn't let the totally rad pad phrase go. He kept saying it. It got really annoying. I pushed him down the mountain. He didn't die.

I followed him down, I opened a bag of cheetos and stuffed them in his mouth and then used his own tail as a gag.
